Jenny Murphy
Jenny is a singer songwriter who performs regularly in the Hudson Valley. Whether you catch her at a solo performance, or Walkabout Clearwater Chorus, you will hear a variety of musical genres with a 3-octave vocal range that can deliver a lilting Irish soprano or a soulful Motown cover. Jenny has offered her vocal skills in studios and on stages from classical choral works at Lincoln Center to folk music on subway platforms. She has appeared on stages with Peter Yarrow, Noel Paul Stookey, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Keb Mo, Tom Chapin, and Pete Seeger. She appears on the Grammy winning Pete Seeger at 89, and collaborates frequently with local musicians.
Concerned Families of Westchester
CFOW was started a few days after 9/11. We began as a discussion group and then became an antiwar group. In the fall of 2002, as the Iraq war loomed, we began weekly antiwar vigils, which we have continued, every Saturday. Through education and agitation, we hope to promote peace and help connect the dots to all our grievances.
Over the past several years CFOW has also worked to raise awareness on environmental issues. We see global warming and climate change as the greatest dangers humanity faces.
Our organization evolves as we continue to stand and say No! to War, No! to fracking, No! to gas & oil Pipeline expansions AND YES! to Green Energy & peaceful solutions to all conflicts in our community and the world.
