Steve Addabbo

Steve Addabbo is best known as a Grammy winning producer, musician, writer, recording engineer and owner of Shelter Island Sound Recording studio in NYC.
Steve’s production and engineering work on Suzanne Vega’s first two albums set a new standard for the singer songwriter genre. Suzanne’s second album, Solitude Standing, with the worldwide hits “Luka” and “Tom’s Diner” went multiplatinum. Steve also co-produced Shawn Colvin’s Grammy Award winning debut album, “Steady On.”
Recent projects include mixing Bob Dylan’s 2017 Grammy winning Bootleg XII, “The Cutting Edge”, Bootleg X, “Another Self Portrait”, and last year’s Bootleg XIII “Trouble No More” from Dylan’s Gospel period. Steve recorded Jeff Buckley’s recent posthumous release in 1993. Richard Barone’s newly released “Sorrows and Promises” and Steve’s own debut album, “Out of Nothing” were both recently released. Other recent sessions include diverse artists as Rosanne Cash, Nona Hendryx, Will Ackerman and the Ravi Shankar Foundation.
Steve has served on the board of governors for the NY Chapter of NARAS. He is a member of ASCAP, a member of the Audio Engineering Society and an active panelist and mentor with NERFA, Folk Alliance and the ASCAP Foundation
