Tumbleweed Mile

Tumbleweed Mile is an American indie rock band led by the singer /songwriter/guitarist Chris Merola and bassist Michael Levine. Both having played many a stage from Austin’s SXSW to Mercury Lounge, CBGB and points beyond.
Merola Once the frontman for the successful roots rock band “Rain Deputies”. One of the more popular bands
to roar through the sleepy Hudson Valley with the intensity of Crazy Horse. Coca Cola used one of their songs in
a National College Radio spot, the band peaked after a few more years, and the members went their separate ways. What was to be their next record, became Chris’ solo release Straight Answer In A Crooked Town” on Cropduster Records Label .
That year saw the creation of his CM’s imprint Yonder Recordings and Tumbleweed Mile. The debut “Paint The Morning Gone”.and “Devil’s In the Details”
fast forward to 2013… with the release of their newest “Greener than gold” . The songs show a different side of Chris’ writing. This time out, the focus is less on americana imagery and country stylings, and more on an intro- spective acoustic and rock sound, The songs have a lot going on, a creative sense of dark imagery and interesting loops. The songs are locked together by soulful and rock solid bass playing of Michael Levine who co-produced the album along with Engineer and mixer Marlowe Stern. The bands auxiliary instrumentation and rhythm section change
depending on the gig. And wherever they play, it is guaranteed a night of big guitar sound and ne songs. Greener than Gold is out on Yonder Recordings.
